i have recently found myself in a jazz phase- it sounds so good in my ears. anyway, the complete just of this post is about keeping in touch. when i came to rhodes 6 years ago, so many people said the move would sift out my life friends from my mere hang around school friends. i met my best friend Levina 11 years ago, whilst trading cricket cards. she had a spare sachin tendulkar card i was missing. and that was that- the tendulkar swap sealed our friendship. she is still my dearest gal and i am very glad we have proved all the drifters wrong. but what do people mean when they say 'keep in touch hey' as they make their moves and sneek off into the distance? i've learnt that some are genuinly better at this than others. and that after a good couple of years, others have no leg to stand on. whatever the case, it seems like such a waste to make contact a chore.
on another note... i caught the re-broadcast of the post-verdict, jacob zuma interview last night on sabc 3. i deliberatly did not watch the first screening- i had had enough really of this whole trial. but my sane judgement got the better of me last night and i watched about 20mins. and true to form the terms "misrepresentation" and "the media" were used in the same breath. granted, there are many media organisations that bend fact. this is in itself a fact. but who is "the media", specifically? and can statements not be more specific in their purpose? surely not every single journalist who covered the trial got the same incorrect idea. those who know me well... know i find this media issue frustrating. it must be heartwarming to know that even if you find yourself in the wrong, there is always "the media" to blame.
today i like: jazz and our new rmr studios... they are beautiful
today i dislike: more stuff than i can handle
