good, bad and the ugly

listenin to: 5fm

it is hectically sad... the current breaking news stories about international cricket. the doping saga surrounding akhtar and asif and now the enquiries about match fixing at the 1999 world cup. i do agree that bad dealings within a game as awesome as cricket, need to be exposed. but this time around, things feel quite sad that the game has reached this kind of low. yes, cronje did make some really bad decisions but is it necessary to continue to make an example of him? there are players that had roles in the match fixing incidents that are still around and attempting to dodge authorities- do something about them. as for the doping duo- i know innocent until proven guilty, so let's wait and see. bottom line- stop disrespecting the game.

on a lighter note, the icc awards will be announced on nov 4th. dravid has been nominated in 4 categories. i must say i see ponting winning a few and deservedly so. the ridiculous bcci has organised a similar cricketing awards on the same night, both in mumbai. now the bcci and the icc is playing "who can throw the best party!" the bcci really needs to stop embarrasing itself and lovers of indian cricket-behave yourself and realise money equates power only in the land of the foolish. at the icc awards, a new category has been introduced: spirit of cricket. india, sri lanka, new zealand and england are up for this one. the winner is obvious but the bcci's recent ridiculousness may just reduce our passion for the game to a power play. and in other news... it's quite tiring to listen to more aussie bashing. they're good at what they do. sure they wave the arrogant card every now and then, but their skill and hunger to succeed is a winning combination. and i've been very impressed by the simple differences adam gilchrist has been making during his stay in india. start small to make big changes.

today i like: the feeling of cricket season
today i dislike: too many things to be done
