poorly done folks

listenin to: kanye west

i happened to catch the news last night. one of the packages featured the mournful return of our fallen soccer players and the stand-in coach. the scene looked pretty reminiscent of many a team's return to their home country, with the sad glances and waving banners held by distressed fans. yesterday's picture wasn't that tragic though because it was marred by hoards of booing and pathetically chanting and supposed distressed south african soccer suppourters. sure, i guess everyone reacts differently to game losses and maybe even the most ardent bafana bafana suppourter has just had enough. but still i mean come on. and here i feel slightly qualified to speak about really suppourting a team and following a sport.

there is a certain amount of unspoken respect which crazy team suppourters have for their chosen players. and although emotions run high and disappoinment is bitterly handled, there was something very disappointing and really vulgar about the reception given to the players as they arrived back in the country. looking at the picture, something just didn't feel right. it felt ugly and very very poor. if you think about it, it kind of makes a nice fit- disgraced players meet disgraced fans.

today i like: finding solutions
today i dislike: very many frustrations
