time to drink up!

listenin to: 5

look left- thats our cuppa poster for this year- it happens tomorrow. i suspect the staff at pick 'n pay may think me weird. i went in four times yesterday to buy cuppa goodies. and i can really say i have so much tea sitting in my room, i don't fancy one myself.

i have learnt that is really humbling to work for a cause such as this. part of the reason why i say that is because of the mixed reactions. when i started this initiative 3 years ago, i was naieve to think that most people would naturally want to contribute to it. i have realised that the reality is much to the contrary. some of the natural reactions are, "i'm busy, i dont have the money, where is this money going to anyway?" all valid points but non valid enough for anyone to sit back and not contribute. i don't know... people are going to have to do a whole lot better to convince me that 3 rands and 10 minutes is a waste of their hard earned cash and time.

my favourite comment is, "i can get the tea and coffee for free at home". sorry dude, seems you've missed the point. on the other hand, there are many who spread the word and are very positive about the idea of fund raising for something that matters. so if you're in town, we'll see you tomorrow, if you're out of grahamstown, find a cuppa somewhere where you are, or even better-start one yourself.

today i like: mad hatter's butternut soup with tabasco sauce
today i dislike: i have a pudgy face today :(
