the trouble with india

let's take a moment to think about this. the team is truly one of the best we have seen in years. we have a swash buckling specialist wicket-keeper come batsmen (dhoni), at least 3 solid and undeniably majestically true batsmen (tendulkar, sehwag, dravid), a solid spinner (singh), 3 lightening speed fielders (kaif, raina, singh) a minimum of 2 all rounders (pathan, singh) and a strong, informed and best of all, thinking captain (dravid). couple this with the largest and most passionate following of suppourters and you have a winning combination. or so one would think. yet with all of this talent floating within the indian team, we just cannot pull it together. other teams that look less impressive on paper would wipe us off the field. wides were being bowled last night that almost strayed off the pitch. all batsmen except for dravid and dhoni should rather have not appeared at all. pathan's magic came too late.

it looked like the west indies would win from the start of their innings. but the 3 late wickets by pathan and agarkhar gave us some hope... too late. it was worse than losing-that moment of seeing a win and then losing. we play australia on sunday. call me stupid, because again i say, we can do it if we really want to. i'm beginning to think levs and i may never see the glory days!
