watching: india vs. west indies at rmr
apart from the usual, and those i always speak about, there are a few other things i will really miss about this small valley called grahamstown:
- being able to take long long walks, at any time of the day and feel completely fine about it.
- actually remembering to stop and check out the sunset on a friday evening because it sees me before i see it.
- being able to walk to the shops in my jeans, a tshirt and slops and think nothing of it.
- knowing that even the tellers and shop owners know who you are by name.
- that amazing madhatters restaurant where you go just because you can't bear to go anywhere else. their chocolate cake is like nothing else.
- a place where theatre, live music, little book sales, cuppa-for-cansas and various other charity gigs happen consistently.
- where dogs jump off 3rd floors, birds chirp until midnight and donkeys queue behind you at the local petrol station. lol.
- there are no malls in sight. we don't need them as much as we think we do.
- walking through a carpet of acorns on the way to work. all year round.
- where little kids in pre school still walk in long squirmy lines instead of travelling on boring buses, on their way to fun.
- and one of my favourites, listening to bagpipes from st andrew's school ground just outside our home. those bagpipes are so sweet.
today i like: goolabs
today i dislike: the neighbours who stole my sleep last night. freaks.
